Job Description
Renewable Energy PlannerJoin our team as a Renewable Energy Planner and become a key part of our Planning team, helping to meet the escalating demand for our services across Ireland. This role will see you working on a variety of medium to large-scale projects in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, leveraging your expertise in the Irish planning system to drive successful outcomes.
What You’ll Bring to MKO- Provide essential planning inputs for renewable energy planning projects from inception to completion, including effective interactions with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary project team members.
- Conduct necessary background research, desk studies, and field visits to support planning applications.
- Prepare comprehensive planning assessments, reports, and project planning inputs.
- Liaise directly with client representatives to progress projects effectively and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Engage proactively with relevant authorities and stakeholders on environmental and planning projects.
- Deliver fit-for-purpose project outputs within set deadlines, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and compliance.

What We’re Looking for in You- We’re seeking a driven, well-organised planner with proven experience and a working knowledge of the Irish planning system, including the interaction of relevant national and European planning and environmental legislation.
- A qualification in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI Accredited).
- A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate planning experience, ideally gained within a consultancy environment.
- Relevant and recent experience working on projects in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors is essential.
- Excellent report writing skills and strong organisational capabilities.
- The ability to successfully manage a varied and full workload while consistently delivering to required project deadlines.
- Candidates must possess a full driver’s licence.
