Job Description

Join our team as a Landscape and Visual Assessment graduate.

Are you a creative graduate with strong report writing and GIS skills? Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) is rapidly becoming an in-demand requirement in the environmental and planning sector, and we're looking for someone from a diverse background (Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related fields) to join our team.

Successful applicants will have studied topics enabling them to demonstrate good knowledge of environmental disciplines, the Irish landscape and the Irish planning system.

In this role, you'll contribute to Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs). You'll work on a broad range of infrastructure projects, from wind and solar energy to grid infrastructure, extraction industry developments, and housing, assessing their visual and landscape impact.

What you’ll bring to MKO:
  • Conduct fieldwork and photography to inform Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs)
  • Produce baseline constraints mapping and spatial analysis, creating high-quality mapping outputs using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other tools.
  • Write clear, compelling reports.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with our Graphics team and key stakeholders, ensuring seamless delivery of assessment outputs.
  • Contribute to diverse infrastructure projects, including energy, grid infrastructure, extraction and housing.

What we’re looking for in you
Essential requirements
  • A degree in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline that equips you with the necessary skills to complete the role.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • A confident and creative approach to work.
  • Collaborative mindset and flexibility - you're ready to learn, adapt, and grow within a professional team environment.
Desirable skills
  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • An understanding of the Irish planning system, local and national planning policy and environmental policy.
  • Experience with photography and surveying techniques used for the production of photomontages.
  • A valid driving license.
